This species of red tuna, more commonly known as "Tonno Alletteratus", is widespread in the Mediterranean Sea, especially on the Italian coasts. The elaboration of preserves is traditional, as in the old Sicilian Thoneries, the pieces are selected by hand, cooked in copper pots and packed manually.
Characteristics: tuna with intense taste and typical corpulence of bluefin tuna. Perfect for tapas, starters or to cook in a sauce for spaghetti or other types of pasta.
